Took the original EMG pups out of the Jackson Put in Air Norton neck, Tone Zone bridge.
Just didn't like the Tone Zone. I'm sure it's a good pup to some and possibly in some guitars, but, just wasn't what I was looking for in guitar. I personally found it to be dead and lifeless. Just blah, drab.
Took out the Tone Zone and put in a Norton... Ohhhhhh... Talk about Mojo. I had almost given up on that guitar and now, it's got such an AWESOME tone. Nice and growlie, nice and lively, dynamic sounding... What a difference that Norton makes.. Very much like a Duncan JB.
If you like the JB, you'll also like the Norton.

Thanks for the 411, Rick. I'm glad you found a pickup you liked for that guitar. I know you had all but given up on it!

Amazing how a pickup swap can make a guitar come to life! Sometimes that is all it takes. Great news though Rick. I aleady have a JB in one HM, but I like the stock bucker to be honest, so I'm hunting for one.

Sometimes it pays to hold out, Nick. I picked up a mint condition Super 3 for $40 shipped awhile back.
