Those aren't hm strats AFAIK. Still great looking guitars
Yes, you're right. These are contemporary Strats, MIJ, kind of the fore runner to the HM and share many of the same features. Beautiful guitars though, especially like the sunburst one! 8-)
At the time of the HM's inception it was to compete with the Ibanez's of the world. These neck/bodies were from similar jig/template/schem only 22 fret but, these were after the big STRAT logo HMs'
In more recent years Fender offered this neck countour for the Custom Shops and some signature series like the Sambora.
Pre-Custom Shop; In Marketing & Special Promo's the Bud Dry/Budweiser or beer guitars were HM's with non contoured bodies (like a Tele). Same exact headstock, neck pocket/heel & hardware. These make Excellent backups or spare necks. They are made slightly better than the HM neck. Headstock was same profile but, painted and a stock Fender decal.
The International Series were Fenders budget models but, offered newer colors and paint jobs.
