.. guitar. Ah ok, two. My HM was my third guitar. First was a cheap ass Hondo, sold it, got a Gibson S1 (LP shaped, three single coils, bolt on neck) wich I traded in for the HM in 89.

Got a squier strat somewhere in 92, sold it, and got a Charvel model 1 around 94. Don't know exactly.
Anyway, the charvel was sold because I needed money, kids, school and work got in the way so I hardly played until 2004. Got a cheap Ibanes (Gax75) the have something simple to grab whenever I felt like it, and that was it. Got a chance to trade it with friend who bought the Charvel, so that was back where it belonged somewhere in 2008.
Anyway, after buying the GAX I got a lot of other guitars, and sold them. A SZ320, SZ520,S470 (all Ibanez), a Shecter Omen extreme, two Epiphones LP and a Ibanez strat like guitar. Been messing with modelling (pod2 through a flat range powered speaker) also.
A few months ago I got sick of it. The HM still sounded best and I sold the remaining 'new' guitars (also because I wanted a MIG/MAG welder but that's another story). So now I'm back to my old setup: One main guitar (the HM), a backup (the Charvel, now with diMarzio tone zone in it and a Van Halen inspired paintjob which is done almost as bad as the real thing), a top (hybrid Randall) and the same 2x12 JCM 800 cab I had for over two decades ow. Ah and a CryBaby and a delay. Both also about 20 y/o.
Feels great. Also, it shows that my preferences didn't really change over the years. In almost al my bands in the 90's it was a guitar straight into a Marshall tube head (30W artist series) sometimes with the wah and delay. The Randall gives some more variaty but in the real world I set it at the max gain I need and use the volume on the guitar to control that. The more things change, the more they stay the same
