Contemporary Strat, MIJ circa 1988 or so. Here's a better pic of one. www.livingtruth.com/GRAPHICS/strat.jpgHas the cool Spyder trem we all know and love. Guy is offering it to me for £200, plus a few days to borrow and see if I like it. Hoping to collect sometime next week perhaps. Not sure how it'll play though. I think I am turnign away from ultra flat fingerboards lately!

Man, that's pretty cool, bro. What color is that called? I like it. 200 pounds seems like a steal. Is that price as good as it sounds? I seem to remember those being made before the HM's. Maybe a bit earlier - like '86?

Welp, the guy has kind of flaked out on me......got no follow up. I am a bit annoyed! I was looking forward to trying the guitar out, especially for the neck. Reckon it's like an HM, being very flat and all.

The pic in the forum and "Better" pic are two different guitars.
Jim is right the "Better" pic is a 1986 contemporary strat w/ a System 1 Fender/Schaller tremolo.
The other is the 1988 with the Lake Placid Blue paint job & Kahler Spyder tremolo. The paint on it actually looks like a glitter paint job in the second photo, which may just be an artifact of blowing the picture up as it appears the background of the picture shows this same graininess.
Not sure which one your trying to buy.
I'd personally want the one with the Spyder. It looks to be a regular strat but with the advantage of a double locking tremolo syste.
Probably sounds awesome. ;D

Yes, you're right, it's digital noise in the photograph. Although "Lake Placid Blue" is a metallic, it is almost certainly noise which is giving the picture this grainy feel. I suspect it was taken on a camera phone!
