What is up with that heel joint?

It looks as though they could skipped the All Access Heel Joint (AAHJ) on this HM since it appears they defeated the purpose of the rounded corner on the neck plate by leaving all the wood beyond it intact. I guess this was the Semi-AAHJ version. Maybe it will add the collectibilty.

Also, the serial number looks odd as well.

The words "Serial Number" look SLANTED and it's printed in a darker color.?

I think the letters are ok, I have a serial 820 something, and it has the same slant. However, that heel is hellaciously odd.

Maybe it was a "Friday afternoon, 15 minutess till home time" guitar. Got sped through QC without a glance.

Body seems otherwise legit.

Aww man! I looked at that guitar on ebay earlier and didn't even notice the heel being like that. Good thing I didn't go bid crazy from my phone. Thats pretty insane

Well Im considering buying that guitar. I played a mere 4-5 hours ago at millers music. It is a nice guitar.

Have you played an HM with the contoured heel, MrFist? That is one of my favorite features on the HM series.
