Actually, yes, HM's came with Steelers in the 90-92 timeframe. I don't know for sure if there was some overlap there when they came with both Spyders and Steelers but for sure, most of the HM Ultras came with Steelers. Only the very last Ultras had Floyds and I don't think any came with Spyders--never seen one with a Spyder. The Ultras were made in the 90-92 timeframe and this is when the Steeler was OEM on many Fenders with locking trem systems (mainly the HM and HRR). The HRR is an example (Hot Rod Reissue)--I have a 1990 Fender HRR that I bought new and it has the Steeler. I have an 1992 HRR that has a Floyd Rose. 1992 is when Fender aquired the rights to Floyd Rose. Although they don't show up very often on eBay, the digital logo HM's that came about around 1990 typically have the Steeler on it. The last one I saw on eBay with the digital logo, non pickgaurd, non heartfield, had a 1990 serial number, was white, had a Steeler on it--and I should have tried to buy that one but let it pass. Most of the HM Ultra pics that I have seen have the Steeler. The pic that Heem6 posted earlier in this thread appears to me to be a Steeler. The Steeler looks just like a Floyd Rose at a glance, but one tell tale sign is that the handle screws into the main body of the trem--there is no treaded stud on the trem body and no threaded collar on the arm.

1992 HRR tobacco burst strat w/ original floyd rose: Wide, fat neck profile w/ jumbo frets Tbx tone, push pull volume pot/HB spliter Offset/contoured heal/neckplate Dimarzo HB Basswood body Locking trem HM Ultra neck I bought off eBay mounted to a non-HM body. The string retainer and chrome washers are not original: Kahler Steeler on my 1990 HRR Stratocaster. Note there is no threaded stud for the handle to screw on to like on a Floyd Rose--just a hole that the handle screws into: Both of my Fender HRR Strats: HM Ultra with Kahler Steeler - pic I found somewhere in another thread or forum and saved. It has a Steeler trem--you can make out the outline of the Kahler logo and there is no threaded stud like on a Floyd.

It will be interesting to see what Beast has to say.
I didn't say they didn't come with Steeler's on them, I simply stated that I had not seen one.
Cool pics, although they could be bigger.
I thought all of Beast's HM Ultra's had Floyd's on them...
