I just paid for a Peavey T-40 bass today, and am excited to receive it and start recording with it holding down the bottom end.
If it was Kim Kardashian's bottom end I would be holding it down myself!

Ha ha! Me too. Congrats on the new bass! I've seen Peavey axes get mentioned a lot around the forum, they must be good guitars, like a lot of things, you don't really see them over here.

Hartley Peavey's strategy was always to charge a set amount above costs for his products (10 or 15%, I can't remember). While Gibson and Fender charge whatever the market will bear.
Consequently, in a lot of people's minds, Peavey became known as "discount" or "inexpensive" gear, and they erroneously thought it wasn't as good as the higher priced stuff.
EVH was with Peavey for many years and you know the stories about how legendarily picky he is...so that says something for Peavey's quality right there.
