Well, all I can say is that I love the way my Kahler-equipped HM plays. If they're in good shape, the Kahler is a good trem. Be aware that spare parts are kind of pricey, since they're no longer made.
I'm going to try installing an R9 Floyd nut on one of my HM's as it is a 15" radius and closest to the 17" radius on the HM necks. It should certainly match the curvature of the neck better than the stock Kahler nut (12") or the stock OFR nut (10") and allow lower action.

I guess it's not surprising the HM's can handle Metalcore. They seem to do everything well!

Hey, cool to run into people who love this guitar like I do! Mine is S/N E827223, a PINK HSS Rosewood fretboard, retro'd with EMG P/U and electronics. Other than that it's original, lots of belt grind on the back.
I bought it used in the early 90's after picking it up off the rack and playing it a bit. I'm a bass player with big fingertips and the neck is wide and spacious enough.
I hate a lot of hum and buzz, so I put in the EMGs.
I'm located north of Toronto Ontario.

Owner: skugga Colour: Pink S/N: J028224 (double checked as i haven't seen any other J's) "Made in Japan" above S/N Fretboard: Rosewood (24 frets) Headstock: Digital Logo Bridge: Floyd Rose Original Pickups: HSS Controls: 5-way, 1 Vol, 1 TBX Purchased: August 1992 new I've had it since new, but it was on sale and stock used to take forever to get to Australia back then so might be older than 1992. Still stock apart from a stabilizer for the Floyd and in pretty good condition still. And still my main guitar even though it looks totally out of place on an indie rock stage . Were the single coils standard strat sc's? I think i'd be lost if i ever had to replace the neck pickup.

Interesting, Skugga. I don't recall seeing any "J's" before, either.
Can I ask you if you're sure it only has one TBX? Seems like all the H/S/S's came with two?
Also, would love to see pics if you've got any or can take a few.
I have never heard much if anything about the stock pickups. The Fender Japanese User Manual (don't have the American manual) doesn't say anything about them other than that they are single coils. I wouldn't worry about replacing them though, there's tons of good singles coils on the market now.
Thanks to everyone who posted their HM info over the last couple days!

Its definately a TBX, notched at 5 and a cap on the pot inside.
The pink seems a bit deeper than the photos i've seen on here as well. I'll post some pics as soon as I can.
Mine is the exact setup of the one in the Ad on the main site (part 125-1100)
Do all of the HM's have postion 3 of the 5 way setup to have all pickups on? I couldn't work out the wiring diagram (plus mine only has one tone control anyway)

We'll need to get Nick over here, he has an original wired HM and could answer your question about the 3rd position on the selector switch. That certainly doesn't sound like a Fender setup, though.
I'm sorry, which picture are you referring to on the main site? The one in the Kahler ad?
Look forward to seeing pics when you get a chance!

Looks like N8 34380, to me, felonius.
N would be a very common neck letter on the HMs. Same with the 8 which I can just make out. The Little verticle line has a top serif which makes me think "N" and it looks like my "N" ones too!.

For real, ofrhm? Maybe that was a feature of the later models. I forget the specs....

I believe that Jim Shine recently mentioned to me that they removed the coil tap from later models as well.
