Oddball MIJ contemporary Strat on ebay

Never seen one like this before. Says it's some sort of factory custom job. I kinda like it, in an ugly duckling sort of way lol!

I',ll lay money down that this is a Fender Contemporary Strat made in Japan. I bought one new in 1987 identicical to this one. This one has been modified with a different pickup, TBX pot has probably been removed, two switches added to control the two coils of the aftermarket pickup, and a pickguard has been added. Custom Shop my ass.

The routing for the wires and knobs definitely does not look factory.

I'm pretty sure the boys at the "Custom Shop" could have done better.

I wasn't going to bid on this but if I was it's nice to know you guys are here for advice. ;D
