Does anybody know if the J.B. Player trem arm #GTA3 will fit the Spyder bridge? My Strat didn't come with the arm & I found this one online, but the seller doesn't know what bridge it fits.

You'd need the seller to measure the thread dimensions or width at least, to be able to tell!
I think it would be very lucky if it did fit, but that is a TOTAL guess. Even the arms on strat copies, and even different Fender models, do not fit each other.

I've been looking at making a trem arm for my black HM, and as far as I can tell the thread is M6 metric, although it's probably an American thread that's very similar. Being in the uk M6 is much easier to come by so I'm going to use this on mine. Wookie, if you're still struggling to find one, I'll happily make two and send one to you.

I coughed up 30 for mine. Think it came from wammi-world. I think i got a 6 or 8mm bar and it was loose in the spyder.

Thanks for the info, I'll try an M6 bolt in the Spyder before I commit to making one. I must admit the bar on my other HM is fairly sloppy, makes me wonder if this is not the original bar.

Ideally you'd need to check the pitch of the the thread or the number of threads per inch, which would need a thread pitch guage to be certain. If you have a vernier caliper and could measure the diameter of the thread that would be useful, if it's over 6mm then that would suggest it's not M6. Thanks for the offer to help.

Don't have the proper tools, but I can measure the diameter on the end with the threads.

heres what i got; the threaded area is 1" long, and the last 1/8" on my bar looks to be worn down. so in total, there looks to be 27 or 28 threads in that inch. the threaded area at it's widest looks to be 1/2 cm. hope that helps some!

That's great, thanks for the info! M6 has 1mm pitch which equates to 25.4 threads per inch so your findings suggests it's not M6. I'll have a look in the handbooks at work tomorrow to see if I can identify which thread it is based on the information we now have. Will post my findings tomorrow. Thanks again for taking the time to check this out.

Well, completely forgot to check about the thread at work today! So, came across this on the web. mdmetric.com/tech/tict.htmLooking at American threads at 28 tpi (threads per inch) it could be either: #12 UNF if the thread diameter is 5.486mm or: 1/4 UNF if the thread diameter is 6.35mm (1/4"). Seeing as my suspected M6 bar off my other HM is a loose fit in the trem I suspect it will be 1/4 UNF. I'll try and source a 1/4 UNF bolt to try in the Spyder to see how it fits. In the meantime I may put a couple of wraps of PTFE tape around the M6 bar to tighten it up a little. Why do the job properly when you can bodge it lol ;D
