Hi guys. New here thinking of buying a HM but have concerns over the Kahler. I want to fit an original floyd rose to it will it fit? Cheer

Well, the Kahler Spyder is a great bridge. I wouldn't be worried about as long as the one you get is in good shape. They stay in tune great and are just tanks.
Retro-fitting a Floyd would mean filling in the bridge post holes, then drilling new ones for the Floyd and most likely re-routing the bridge cavity.
There are some HM's made after 1990 that came with Floyds. You don't see them too often but they are out there.

I would suggest getting one with the Kahler and trying it out. I once thought the same thing, I'll only play a Floyd. But after trying out the Kahler I was pretty impressed with it. The ONLY thing I dont like is that it does feel more massive than an OFR. But tunning stability and everything else is right in line with the OFR IMO.
As Jim said....I have seen very few HM's with stock OFR's.

Yep, nothing wrong with the Kahler. In fact, mine stay in tune better than any real original floyd rose I have used. (I ahve one on a Model 6 Charvel). They are stable as hell and really nice units. I only have to tune mine a few times a year really! Unless I am going REALLY crazy with it.
If you can find one to try first, like halo says, you may be surprised, flex5150. Good luck!

I see some HM's for sale sometimes with Kahlers that are missing parts. Most parts are available, but some parts are pricey, and in general I'd say it's better to just wait for one with the Kahler intact and in good shape.
