Floating or not floating Floyd

Hi Just get my V1 HM Strat, HSS, 2 controls white. will post later on pics and Serno.
Small question :
On mine, looks like the original FRose is not floating. There is a sort of shim behind the sustain block on the spring side to make it work in the "down" way only.
Was it standard or not.
I can't understand the purpose of the hole under the trem if it is not floating.

Sounds like its been blocked. To safely remove it, make sure you take the strings and springs off. I didn't on an old guitar and the trem jammed the posts forward, requiring some minor woodwork.

Done, a shim was locking the trem in Down tune mode only.

Glad you got it taken care of. I always say the only people who block off Floyds, are people who don't know how to set up Floyds!
