I was just wondering if anyone was considering getting an Earvana compensated nut for the HM Strat when they come out soon.I've noticed that when intonating at the 12th fret it's showing 0 cents +/- yet at the 5th fret it's + 8 cents on the B string +2 cents on G measurement on my Strobsoft 2 virtual tuner.

I got one of those for one of my other guitars but never installed it.
I've heard people say the "real" secret to those is the precise, custom tuning specs they give you to use with the Peterson (and probably Strobsoft) tuners. Not sure if that's true or not.
I tune my guitars with the A note on the G string matching up to the D note on the B string, and the B string matching up to the E string. Does anyone else do that? I'm thinking that might somewhat compensate for that +8 cents on the B string?

I once read something about not tuning with 5th or 7th fret harmonics. As somehow one or two of them are a few cents off anyway in a guitar tuned to standard.
So I tune with 12 fret harmonics. The harmonic gives the pitch, the string below tunes to that harmonic.

The other issue with Interval / 5th and 7th fret tuning is that if you're off by a couple cents on one string, that carries over to every following string, too.
