The 24 fret Stagemaster and Showmasters that were made in China are the exact same guitars. I got a fret dress and setup done on my Showmaster and I love it. Also had the volume and tone pots replaced. They came with upgraded pickups (I'm not replacing mine), a brass sustain block, basswood body, contoured neck heel for upper fret access. In other words, a budget version of the HM Strat. There is a neck thru and a bolt on version of the Stagemaster. They were really designed to represent a significant higher quality than they priced out at. Underpriced in the used market, you can get them here in USA for $125 for bolt-ons up to $200 for neck-throughs. The neck through represents a higher original price, but I like the bolt-on neck just as well. Note - the Floyds are original style arms that don't have the tightening collar to keep it from swinging, they screw in just like Stratocaster arms.

I have that exact same guitar.
It does not feel like an HM at all, in terms of neck. The neck is basically a normal strat neck, but painted.
The trem however is great and it is a nice feeling guitar. Mine felt a bit neck heavy though, as the headstock is huge in these models.
As heem said though, the trem collar does not lock. However in my model I cannot even remove the trem arm.
If you are lookign for a metal feeling neck, i.e. slim and thin and fast, this guitar might not be your thing. Otherwise it is fine.
I was actually going to sell mine as I do not play it.

Hey Nick, Probably not worth the cost of shipping to the States, but I have a friend who's looking for one of those. You got any pics?

I think I have some, yes. It only has one tiny mark near the selector switch. I can take more. I could find out shipping cost if you like.
