I'm surprised I didn't think of looking for a board sooner. It never occurred to me until now. I have quite a few HM strats. I think either 9 or 12. I will do some digging in the next few days to find them all. I have a lot of extra necks, bodies, and trems and odd parts that I have scoured ebay to get in the last ten years. I generally buy anything related to the guitar since I joined ebay (in 2000). I won't sell anything BUT I will buy. I have quite a few guitars and I bought my First HM Strat in 1990 and never stopped using them as my main stage guitar. I have a weekend classic-rock/rock cover band that has had the same members for over 16 years. I'm not sure how I will fit in here but I will do my best to login regularly and offer my input if it could be of help to someone.

Awesome! Nice to have you as a new member, Gig! Please tell us all about your HM's and post pictures if you got 'em or can take 'em. How'd you come across your first HM?

So that's where all the HMs have been going...! lol!
I think we'd all love to see pics...I thought I had a whole lot, having three (and still thinking about another!)
Do you have any really unique or special ones?
(Does your band have a site, too?)

I looked at a few of them tonight. (there's 12)
Most are E serials with a few H. All of them are HSS and all of the colors seem to be represented.. But I only have one "Krackle" (black/gold).
I bought my first one when I was picking up two Marshall cabinets at a music store that ordered them for me. They had a green one hanging in their window for too long they said. No one wanted to buy it and I bought it new for $345! The tag said: $1399 as a list price! I was a big customer (I own all the PA gear too... haha) so they threw me a deal. I still have it and I call it "Gumby". I grew up watching him on TV and the color suited everyone.
I have played a Roland GR1 guitar synth since 1991 and I am getting my Moxie to cut one up for a internal GK-2 kit! I have a gorgeous blue sparkle one ready to get drilled and fitted for it. Has anyone here done it?
I grey up in music. I started playing guitar in 1964. I was six. My first serious guitar was a 1964 Stratocaster that my dad gave me. When I bought "Gumby" (in 1991) is was like a serious violation to the "fender cork sniffers" but...I have done it justice. I do play well. Remember, I started playing guitar in 1964! My first band was 1970. I've been at it a long time. I am very fit/healthy and plan to enjoy many more years of gigging. What I am thinking here is.... "I may be the oldest member here!" haha
yeah, I don't have as much money this year as I have had in the past...(no more overtime... this economy!) but I may have been a counter bidder on ebay for a few of you. I apologize. I am poorer now, so it's not the same when I see stuff on the bay. Now i just look at it and close the window!
Anyone cut into one of theirs for the internal GK2 kit? I am about too! any tips?
be well, gig

Ha! You're only a couple years older than me!
I like that you named your first HM "Gumby." Unbelievable deal getting it brand new for $345!!
You put me to shame, sir! I have 5 HM's but three are in the process of being rebuilt. Do you have original pickups in yours or have you switched them up? Sorry, I have no experience with the Roland Synthesizer systems except for the guitars from the 80's I've seen (and owned) with the giveaway screw holes from the Rolands synth pickups.
If you ever get some time, I'd love to have serial numbers and dates, etc. for the serial number database. Also, I think everyone wants to hear playing clips - if it's on an HM it's even better!

That's really cool, gig4fun...!
I have a GK2A kit on a strat of mine. On guitar only mode, it REALLY sucks the tone badly. And you get a tiny tiny bleed through of the MIDI effect you've patched in.
Installation is not so hard. You should not need to do any cutting at all Just one hole for the GK cable to run into, in the humbucker ring.
