Just purchased a Rasberry HM. $400 with Fender hardcase. Decent condition. Only missing a "F" cap on a knob(anyone want to sell one?) I have owned a 93 Ibanez S540 Custom(emerald color) since 93. Awesome guitar but wanted something different but still metal. I knew someone in 1990 that had one and I started looking for one. I purchased this guitar basically on the comments I read on this website and others. This guitar is great. To make a long story short this guitar was 6 hours away from me on Craigslist and I couldn't get it shipped. In passing I asked a friend and she was going there the next day. I transfered money in to her account and she picked it up while she was there!!! I guess it was meant to be.  More pics if you want to see them. |

Installed 1Mohm volume pot. Great sound improvement and cheap upgrade.

Hey, I'm glad that worked out for you!
People don't realize how much difference that mod makes and would just rather spend $80 buying a new humbucker than to mess with the "carved in stone" philosophy that humbuckers MUST have 500k pots!
How's that beast play, anyway? More pics, please.

Welcome to the forum, tvill! You've got a nice HM there, from the "2nd run" I think, after Fender revamped the colours a little, and after the humbucker had a small redesign. Really nice candy apple red vibe going on. Looks like the toggle switch is changed by the way! I can se from the fretboard pics that it's been played a whole lot. How do you like the feel? Everytime I come to the forum I always get the urge to pick mine up and play.  |

This guitar plays great. I put in the 1meg pot and it was even better. By contrast I picked up my stock 93 Ibanez s540ltd custom and it was lifeless by comparison. I can't even begin to tell you the difference in tone. The stock HM wins hands down. I have some mods in store for the Ibanez. If that doesn't help I doubt I will play it much. That is how superior the HM is. So if your reading this and your on the fence about an HM. The HM is worthy of the title "one of the best guitars ever made"!!!!!

Nice snag on that knob! Those only come up for sale a couple 3 - 4 times a year.
