Upgrading a strat

Here are some pics of a Squier I picked up for $20 a few years back slowly making it a little better. First a changed the pickguard pieces to black. The crappy squier pickup covers were longer then the fender black ones so I had to improvise once I ran out of spacers (Note the Green Contact Lens Container Caps) Now adding a Floyd I picked up at the Atlanta Guitar Center for $50. Yes that is a cardboard pickguard. I'm using it to gauge how much I need to cut off of the actual pickguard for the Floyd to fit. I got bored so I made 2 pickup holes and drew a humbucker (Next Project) Just waiting for a few parts from Allparts before I can continue. Please note the pickguard color change so to speak I did a year ago. Do not have pictures from before.

Thanks for shrinking them imageshack changed there site a little since I last used it do not know how to shrink them anymore. But now as I sit here playing the strat it is like the ultimate acoustic. The 2 pickup holes work well as soundholes.

How are you going to rout for the nut shelf, mrfist? Looks cool so far, got that "Iron Maiden Strat" look.

I'm going to route with that magical tool called a router
