If you don't know what this is please get a clue. Heres the page on GC www.guitarcenter.com/Hipshot-GT1-Guitar-Ext-Key-Acoustic-Grover-767354-i1422172.gc
Moving on these as you should know are tuning machines that from the flip of a lever detune your 6th string to your designated position. I was kind of skeptical at first and at $60 seems kind of pricey. But overall after installing it I love it. Once you set it up it doesn't go out of tune as you think it would. It works simply by 2 pieces one screwed down to the headstock and the regular screw on the top of the headstock. The 2 pieces rotate. So what happens is the lever while parallel to the machine head is for E. Essentially all the lever does when its in E is it stops the rotating tuning machine from being pulled down from the string. When you release the lever it lets the sting pull on it which turns the tuning machine. The pulling from the strings detunes it. The lever is bolted to the bottom piece of the tuning machine so that it stays where it is the bolt sticks out the top to serve as a stop. Sounds confusing but will make sense. There is a screw on the back that when you release the lever, the screw (which is attached to the moving piece) stops when it hits the bolt that holds down the lever. The screw serves as a tuner for when the lever is released. So you set the screw to set up how far the piece turns before the screw stops on the bolt. Which as you can imagine is to setup what it detunes to.
It is by far really cool. I love it! Quick setup as well. No drilling or crazy modification required. Its essentially just like changing to another tuning key.
One downfall and this will probably just be me but. It does a good job of taking up the room between the adjacent tuner. Which is where I had my Strip of Velcro for sticking guitar picks to it. But other then that its perfect. If your sick of failing at quick detunings this is for you. Well worth the money. Also they have in many styles. (Schaller, Grover, Bass Etc.)
Only other problem I've heard people complain about is that it does not stay in tune when switching the lever. In most cases the problem solver there was graphite on the nut.

Oh and the empty screw hole is for if your previous grover did not have the screw in front. Mine had the screw in front (like most Grovers) so I just screwed it down there. You can't see it because of the moving piece above it.
