hey im new to this forum i posted this a day ago but it seems to have been removed or something ive had this guitar for years and never played it but im now getting into starting to play im wondering what this guitar is i was told its an HM but all the hm's ive seen are not the same that have black trems and bridges and head and they have an extra knob on the body. this guitar doesnt the serial # is E921774 and theres also a sticker on the back of the head that says made in korea with a different serial WO200589 im stumped on this thing i cant figure out what it is well heres the pictures img692.imageshack.us/i/pict0454.jpg/ / img705.imageshack.us/i/pict0459.jpg/ / img69.imageshack.us/i/pict0462i.jpg/ / img46.imageshack.us/i/pict0457.jpg/ Thanks.

Hmm. Looks like one of the Pro-Tone Stratocasters with Floyds from Korea but the only ones I've seen had pickguards.
Maybe someone else can be of more help. Is there a name on the bridge - Floyd Rose II or III maybe? You could also check with the webmaster over at www.Strat-Central.com, I bet he'd know.
(No HM's were ever produced in Korea, sorry.)

well i found this www.strat-central.com/pics/strats/1986tonow/mvc-002.jpg thats a pic of one identical and the article about it. heres the article its the 16th guitar down on the page i believe. / www.strat-central.com/fmi.htm / it says Squire HM strat (Korean) maybe whoever made that article didnt know what they were talking about talking about not sure. and all it says is licenced under floyd rose patents on the trem.

Hmmm, never heard of any Korean Squier HM Strats, and this one says "Stratocaster," whereas all HM's I've ever seen have "Strat" on the headstock. I emailed Richard over at Strat-Central.com and hopefully will get some more information.

Richard said that he cannot confirm that the guitar on Strat-Central is an HM. It's just what the owner told him it was.
Although yours looks like a nice guitar, I don't see anything to indicate it would be an HM.
I did some searches and so far haven't been able to even find a picture of a Korean Squier with no pickguard. Quite a mystery!
