For years I've wondered, "How hard could it be to design a decent headstock shape?" Well, it must be pretty hard 'cause very few companies can manage to do it!
I'm gonna list headstocks and rate them. If any of you own these guitars, I'm not commenting on the quality of the guitar itself, just whether the headstock design is aesthetically pleasing.
Well, number one for me will always be the standard Fender headstock. That is the one to beat in my opinion. It's design allows for straight string pull in regular or reverse headstock and it just looks classic.
Gotta say, I love the Jackson almost as much!
Okay, Kramers were knock offs of the Gibson Explorer headstock, but I like these as well.
The Ibanez is kind of cool but it looks like someone's routing template slipped when they were cutting the tip:
These just look weird to me:
Some would say CLASSIC to the Gibson Les Paul headstock, I just say BORING and waaaaaay old school.
Feel free to chime in and tell us what you like.

I prefer symmetry.
3 tuners on each side, like the PRS or my LTD. I don't care for the tip of the PRS, but it's ok.
I do like the HM headstock (because it's painted black =D) and the Ibanez headstocks.

Oh yeah, this is so horrible. I immediately think, "How long would it take me accidentally break off half that headstock?" My answer to myself is "Probably the same day I got it."
The PRS isn't TOO bad, if they made it the same on both sides it would be better.
I dig the reverse Flying V headstock. Did you know they use left-handed screws on the tuning machines on those?
