Hey guys. As i said in bodaggit's thread, i'm from Italy, looking to buy an HM strat at a good price! My teacher has a pink one he ordered from the USA and i just fell in love with it! Also, i started playing some more technical stuff (for instance, I must learn technical difficulties ) and my Les Paul and Stratocaster are just not right for this type of stuff! So why not buy an HM Strat? Price isn't so high, quality is pretty good, they look and feel awesome! heem6I contacted Dan, Got an email from him during the night. He sold it a while ago. Told me there is a black HM strat in a guitar center...but they don't ship internationally and so I can't get it. lbeastChecked those out. They look awesome and price isn't too exaggerated. The problem as usual when buying from USA is customs! Anyway, i've sent a few mails....i'll see what they tell me. I'd like it in HSS configuration though and with maple fretboard. They sell a few here in Italy but prices are kinda high! I've seen a Metallic Red Strat HM: the guy wants 716$ I've seen a Blue greenish Strat HM with GOTOH floyd rose: 892 $ A pink HM Strat with original floyd rose tremolo: 757$ All of these have a maple fretboard but prices are kinda high...there also is a white HM at 1200 $ O.o

Customs make them really expensive

Customs make them really expensive Those two guitars aren't custom, they're "just" HM Strats. What makes the HM's a bit spendy, is that they're fairly rare. Maybe you should look at something a bit less expensive? I can personally vouch for the LTD F series guitars or low line H series, if you can find them in your area.

Nono i mean CUSTOMS...I don't know how to explain but importing from the US to Italy makes me spend 20% added value on the basic guitar price once it passes customs!

LOL! My apologies! I thought you meant custom guitars! Congrats on your purchase! I hope you like your HM as much as I like mine. One thing you may consider doing when you get it, is take it in and have a guitar tech give it a once over to make sure everything is set up correctly, and put some new strings of your choice on it.

I play exclusively 0.10-0.46, they feel just perfect for me. I know how to setup guitars more or less so I think i'll give it a look and set it up! I'll post pics as soon as it arrives, it looks to be in perfect condition (that maple neck looked almost new to me) and I really liked the look of the black marbleish look! In my music school HM Strats are pretty much common: My teacher has a pink HM Strat with maple neck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP3C396BOPE this is him playing it) And two other students I know have 2 HM! A red one with rosewood neck and a black one with maple fretboard, both in perfect condition. Now I'll have one too

Congratulations! How long will it take for you to receive that HM? I thought that one looked to be in real nice shape as well!
Your teacher has great technique.
P.S. Of course we'll want pics, serial number and a clip, if possible!

Xion,
Make sure you tell the seller, if he doesn't already know, to send the package to you through customs identified as a"Gift". Customs will not charge any fees from a foreign country to USA if it is identified this way. Possibly this will be the same situation from the US to a foreign country. Good Luck!

They discovered this trick a few years ago so they also charge gifts now. A friend of mine (She lives in minnesota) usually sends me REAL gifts from the US and often I must pay customs. The seller was very kind and gave me 30$ back on shipping and will try declaring a little lower value so customs will be a little less. heem6Hope it gets here in a week! I don't know what's the speed with USPS. For sure you'll have pics and...ok maybe also a clip!! Serial is H032197 so it means it's from 1990? Now that I think of it...seller didn't say anything and I didn't ask but my greatest hope is it doesn't have electronical problems which are boring to solve! Also, now I don't have any money left but once i'll have it I was thinking (even though I still don't have her) to replace the single coils with DiMarzio Cruisers which sound real good!
