We're pretty lucky to have lived in an era where we have some incredible guitar players to enjoy. Who are some of the most impressive guitarists you've ever seen live in concert?
I missed Page and Gilmour, but I'll start off with two:
1. Eddie Van Halen on the Fair Warning tour - Eddie is such a hack now it's hard to remember how mind-bendingly good he was back in the day. He would be playing his Eruption/Spanish Fly solo, which was hard to even comprehend back then, AND he would be running all over the stage, bouncing up and down and twirling around only to stop on a dime, stare the audience straight in the eye as if to say, "How 'bout those apples, huh? You want some more?" Then he'd be off playing another impossible lick while jumping in the air again.
2. Jeff Beck at the Fender 60th Anniversary Celebration at Tempe Town Lake. Jeff brought Beth Hart with him to sing all the old songs, and she sounded like a sober Janis Joplin. Man, he's gotten all the best talent to work with him throughout his career! Jeff was just ON that night and literally had me laughing and almost crying at the stuff he pulled off on his Stratocaster and the emotion he put into the songs. Truly there is a reason why people say "There are guitarists, and then there is Jeff Beck."
Look forward to hearing your stories!

Not sure if all these guys classify as "Gods" but these are the ones I thought to mention, in no particular order: 1. I saw the "Brian May" band, which opened for Gun's n Roses, so two birds with one stone there. 2. I saw Ozzy play twice, but Zakk wasn't there for either show...Very disappointing to say the least, as I'm a huge Ozzy/Zakk fan. 3. I saw Quiet Riot/Blue Oyster Cult/Nazareth. They were all pretty good, but the guitar performance of Buck Dharma blew me away. Not a "shredder" but amazing to me. Heard lots of good songs that night. 4. I saw Van Halen, when Sammy rejoined after Cherone, must have been 2004. Eddie was drunk and when he played his signature solos, he actually started sobbing and told the crowd how much he appreciated it...It was pathetic really, but still an honor to see the band. Sammy saved that show with his excellent stage presence. 5. Lynyrd Skynyrd (with Johnny) /ZZ Top. Skynyrd opened for ZZ Top (I know, right?) and Gibbons wasn't exactly top of his game, but great guitar player. It was a bit odd though, as I heard rhythm guitars playing and lots of techno stuff, but only 3 guys on stage...it was weird. Skynyrd blew me away.

VH 1985 (EVH), RATT Invasion of your Privacy Tour 1986 (Warren Demartini & Robbin Crosby), Yes Big Generator Tour 1987 (Trevor Rabin), King's X 1992, 1994, 2008 (Ty Tabor), Extreme 2008 (Nuno Bettencourt), Nickelbag (Stevie Salas), & Blue Oyster Cult/Aldo Nova 1985? (Aldo Nova & Buck Dharma).
Not all of these are Gods of course, but are notable guitarists.
One I wish I had seen, Pantera (Dimebag R.I.P.)!

I've heard some other people praising Buck Dharma lately. I liked BOC back in the 70's but wasn't obssesed with them or anything. I might have to go take a listen to some deep album cuts now.
Others I've seen in the last five years: - George Lynch (3 times) - Reb Beach with Winger. Incredible, born to play the guitar. - Adrian Smith, Dave Murray on the Maiden Back in Time tour. - Rick Nielsen with CT. - Warren DiMartini with RATT - Alex Skolnik with Testament - Toni Iommi with Heaven and Hell - KK and Glenn with Priest (twice) - Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich with Whitesnake - Mick Mars on COS tour. Only one of the Crue who was any good live. And he was great. - Billy Gibbons with ZZ - Joe Walsh w/James Gang - Joe Satriani (twice), Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci - Tracii Guns with his version of LAG featuring Jizzy Pearl. - Slash w/Velvet Revolver (first album)

I hear ya!
It seemed like I was going to ten concerts a year for a few years! It gets challenging when most bands tend to come thru in the summer and it's often 112 degrees and it's an outside venue. Luckily a lot of "our" bands are now playing theaters instead of our Cricket Arena. Oh, forgot The Brothers Young with AC/DC last year. That was a fun concert!
Anybody else got some to list?

Not in any particular order..... Mark Knopfler (my pre-metal days) Eddie Van Halen-1990/91 with Sammy Hagar Gary Moore Yngwie Malmsteen- Brilliant but far too loud, or maybe I'm just getting too old? Great White -not exactly guitar gods but a great gig Brian May with Cozy Powell(R.I.P) Def Leppard, Thunder, Ugly Kid Joe(remember them?) Terrorvision at same gig Metallica Jimi Hendrix at the Isle of white, oh wait.... maybe that was just a dream I had
Can't think of any more at the mo. Not all guitar gods as such but still better than me!

Not in any particular order..... Jimi Hendrix at the Isle of white I know two people who were there....they said it was a bit of a letdown...Jimi I mean. It was all a bit of a shambles anyway, by all accounts! I've seen Dave Meniketti from Y & T Paul Gilbert From Mr. Big And Alvin Lee. I don't get to see many concerts!

Dave Meniketti, theres a name I haven't heard in a while! I've got a couple of Y&T albums somewhere, he was/is a great player. Will have to dig them out for another listen.
You're right about the Isle of Wight (can't believe I wrote 'white' before) , it was probably one of his worst performances. I should have said the Monterey gig, that was how Jimi should be remembered.
