I finally got the sides right. I took a completly different approach to making it. Basically I constructed a full sized tele body from ply wood, and used it as a buck to bend the metal around.  |

The last thing I have to do, is construct the neck pocket and drill the holes for everything. Obviously I'll have to do electronics. I'm thinking of just doing a clear coat finish to show the metal.

Looks like A36 Hot Rolled Sheet Steel. ;D
How thick is the top?

Mine is made of steel as well, I actually got the idea to do a metal guitar from trussart. Top and back are 16 gauge steel, sides are 20 gauge.
