There is a ding or two by the knobs, but all the hardware is immaculate!
Love to have it.

Immaculate! Still has white numbers on the knobs!!! It's actually really easy to paint the white back on the knobs. My HM came with white lettering when I got it 6 years ago, which has since faded off. I repainted the numbers white, I doubt anyone could tell they were repainted.

Generally, if the numbers had worn, the guitar would also have considerable wear.
To me, the condition of the knobs matched the condition of the rest of the guitar, which seems immaculate.
I could be wrong though, they could be painted, as you pointed out.
I've done much detail work on scale models of cars and I know what it takes to paint raised letters or numbers.
A thin brush and half a drop of paint.
