Thanks heem, I've been so lucky with my guitars. I think I'd have bought this even if it played bad just to hang on the wall or something! That Striker of yours sounds like a real shredder! I can't picture the model, any chance you could post a pic of it?

Solid Alder body, shaved neck, GFS Crunchy Rail bridge pickup, 2mg volume pot, OFR, Gotoh tuners.I got it new for something like $230 and it's one of my favorite players.
But you've got one of the holy grails of Kramers - an original Pacer! How's the neck on that thing? Is it nice and thin like the one I played and fell in love with once?

Congrats on scoring that! Looks really minty! There is kramerforum.com to visit if you have questions. Or ask them here. I am actually a huge Kramer fan. I have owned a few over the years. Also you can visit vintagekramer.com and see all kinds of information and history on Kramer guitars. There is a large registry there as well, although its not really maintained anymore. And I can tell you from experience that the Kramer Focus line, 1000 series only! (1000,2000, 3000 etc) are HARD to beat for the money. Many don't know they were built in the ESP factory back in the day.

Wow, that's a mean looking guitar! Wouldn't want to turn my back on that for long in case it turned on me lol! $230 is an absolute steal of a price bud. Don't see how they could make any money on them! The neck on the Pacer is actually quite chunky, more like a trad strat neck, especially with it's 9" radius and 1"5/8 nut. It is very comfortable and plays beautifully, no choking even on big bends. The square heel does restrict access to the top end as you said, but I'm used to that with my highway one! In fact, a good way to describe how it plays is that it's like a really good standard strat with bigger frets. The only problem I've found with it is that if you lower the action too much the front edges of the floyd actually touches the body. I guess I could shim the neck a bit to get a better angle for the floyd, but I really don't want to mess with it too much, at least not yet anyways. ;D

Thanks halo, I've been meaning to have a closer look at the kramer sites, I have visited them a few times just to get some info and look at the axes, (some of them guys have unreal collections!) and may well join in the forum now I have the Pacer. Thanks for the tip on the Focuses (Foci?)!!! I have seen a few of these pop up on ebay and they do seem to go cheap as you say. Built in the ESP plant too, we'll keep that under our hats!
