Here's what I found for a Floyd Rose II. You can't see the String Lock bolts from the top, plus the corners are "nipped" and not rounded.
The inserts also don't look like "hardened pivot-edge inserts". www.vintagekramer.com/parts6.htm

I saw that website as well and I'm calling shenanigans on it. I'd be willing to bet you have never seen the model you depict from the Vintage Kramer website on a guitar. Maybe someone has, and I'm not ruling it out, but I find it highly unlikely
The picture below shows what a FRII looks like in reality. Straight from the Fender Frontline Magazine Summer '92 Vol. 7 Floyd Rose poster fold out. As I stated before, POT METAL (die cast). Now your Schaller may not be made of the same die cast material the FRII was made of, but it has the same design, so if I'm a betting man I would say that it is die cast. Then again...we all know what opinions are like.

Those are all Schaller made?
I see what you're saying, and mine is definitely CAST.
But I see no difference between what I have, and what they sell on Stewmac for $220.

But I see no difference between what I have, and what they sell on Stewmac for $220. I don't think the ones in my picture are Schaller made. Then again, I don't know when FR went to using Schaller to make his products. Probably no difference from what Stewmac sells and what you have. I don't know when yours was made. I also don't know exactly when the so called junk pot metal ones were made ('90s?). I have no experience with them so I don't in fact know if they are junk either. What I think indicates that yours is cast is that it has a thicker metal base plate than the original FRs or FR Pros. Let your ear be your guide. If you're happy with it then it doesn't matter what the rumors are.

Gotcha. yeah, it's definitely cast, I can tell by the "textured" finish.
So I won't know if it's a winner until I try it out. It'll be a little while.
Thanks for all the info as usual Beast!

Turns out it has the same Floyd Rose II as that website shows, except not chrome.
I feel this lends some validity to that website anyway. ;D
The pics are cr@p, but I played this guitar last weekend, and it certainly says "Floyd Rose II" on it.

Uncalling the shenanigans. Bo has proven my opinion to be unfounded with that pic. Good sleuthing Bo! That is a weird looking design though compared to the one pictured in the FR Fender Frontline ad.
Did your friend's FRII have the hardened metal fulcrum inserts like are shown in my Fender pic? I wonder if some were made like your friends and then they went to the Fender FR design, which looks to me more like a Spyder style tremolo? What year is your friend's Kramer?
