Also, I might ask if I can stay with you if I ever save up and come over to finally see SAXON. haha.
Other guys want to go to Bora, Bora on their vacation - I dream about seeing my favorite NWOBHM band!

Hey Jim!
I actually saw SAxon on March 27th. We travelled 5 hrs to a metal festival. But really, they werne't that good...other bands outclassed them, which was weird.
Mainly, the worst bit was that the sound mix was terrible. For some little podunk band on before them, the sound was good, clear and defined, solos popped out and all...but Saxon was just garbled mush. I think the sound guys thought that volume = better.
Which was a shame.
I think Crue are on this summer here.

Oh man, I hate to hear that! Have you got the box DVD set from WACKEN a few years back? They are just pulverizing and sharp as razors! I have heard that their excessive volume is a constant complaint, though. Which festival was it? www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL5HjkYbERo
I hate to say this, but - I will never go see the Crue again. Their sound was horrible here on the Carnival of Sins tour. Vince - well, I don't know what Vince was singing during the concert. Tommy and Nikki were off all night but Mick Mars put in a stellar performance. So he clearly outplayed all the other guys combined - and he's half dead!

I feel the same way about the Crue! THe last 2 times I seen them Vince was so winded that some verses of the lyrics he would totally skip over! He looked kinda bloated or fat. But the rest of the band seemed to be spot on though! But seeing the girls get naked and make fools outta themselves kinda makes things better! |
