I want to get a couple Chrome pickups, for obvious reasons. ;D
I'm having a hard time finding chrome Super 3's. I know they exist, or have existed, because they're listed in Chrome on the Dimarzio site, but where to purchase...
Anyway, I can easily get chrome Evo's, Norton's, PAF's, Liquifier, Super Distortions, etc.
I know the Super 3 is uniquely voiced, but any hints as to which pickup would be a viable alternative?
Keep in mind, the goal is CHROME.

How hard would it be to just spray paint a super 3 chrome?

I fear the finish would not be shiny from a spray can.
It would also wear off quickly. I thought of Aluminum Tape which they use for HVAC ducting, but I want the real deal.
Shiny chrome that won't wear.

Since the Super 3 is based on the Super Distortion, it should sound somewhat similar. The SD has more treble freq's, and the S3 has more mids.

Is the TBX going to help as far as tweaking the tone to be similar?
Any way to basically simulate the tone of the Super 3 using a Super?

That sounds pretty cool!
I talked to Banjomikez from ebay and it sounds like he may be able to get me Chrome Super 3's. ;D

Absolutely.
These pickups, along with my chrome Floyd and some chrome knobs, will be going on my 2 piece Aluminum HM...

I should have the body done within the month I'm hoping.
The pickups will have to wait until first of the year though.

There's a foil they make for faux-gold leafing, you can get it at AC Moore or Michaels. It comes in a bunch of colors (including silver) Basically, you spray the surface with this adhesive, attach the foil, the give it a good brush/rub, and anything not touching where the adhesive is flakes away. could be a good last resort, and would probably look better than a bottle of testors model paint
