Its Japanese assembled in US. Value is subjective and depends on the condition of the guitar or what someone is willing to pay for it. I have bought them in okay condition for $99.00 and seen the high end Ultra models go for $1,000.00. Regular HMs go for around $250.00-$500.00.

Aloha found one locally with a asking price of $400 with org case. By doing the search I found what i wanted to know on pricing. If I dont pick it up I will make sure I get the SN and send it in to be recorded.
Mahalo (thanks) Jeff C

Right on Jeff! Aloha to you as well.
If the HM is in decent shape, that would be a decent going rate for one.

Welcome to the forum Jeff. That does seem a good price as Ibeast says. On the subject of prices when I first joined the forum the price of HM strats was generally higher in the USA than here in Europe. Recently that seems to have changed, the last few I've seen in recent months have either remained unsold due to high reserves or have made GBP £300-£450+ depending on condition. Incredibly one of the 'German 3' sold recently for 750 euros! I guess I missed the window when they were pretty cheap about a year back. Kicking myself now!

Ah, don't worry lad, I'm sure you'll find one. I can't believe one of the German yokes actually sold, I guess crime does pay

Yes i live on Oahu. Strat is black and looks to be in perfect shape from the pictures I have seen. I dont play but have a 11 year old son that has been taking lessons for almost a year and when I wake up hearing him playing AC/DC/Zeppelin/Cheap Trick at 4 in the morning I think its time to upgrade him to a better guitar than his bigginer Fender Starcaster. I think if I do that he will want to play more and will keep pressing forward with his learning
