Hey everyone. Picked up a HM strat that I've been wanting for a long time. Found it odd that the headstock says "International Series by Fender" Anyone seen this before? I've seen a few of them in the past and looked at a lot of pics, but couldn't find any that said this. Does anyone know what it means and if that is common or not? Also the back of the headstock has a signature with a date of "1992". Thanks in advance.

hummm....whats the sig on the back? I have never seen an International Series HM. Have seen the regular strat in that series. And those are very rare! I think they made them in the early 80's and only in like 6 colors I think.
I could be wrong on that though. Not really a standard strat kind of guy. But I would think yours is pretty damn rare.

The International Series HMs are 1988 offshore models (i.e. sent outside of US). That is why you find them mainly in European countires. If you're referring to the mini toggle switch behind the tone controls that is a coil splitter that came stock on the HMs.

Cool, so are the international ones rarer than? Mine has an extra toggle switch added behind the last tone control, so it has 2 toggles and 1 5-way. Not sure what the aftermarket toggle does, its wired up, but Im no pro at guitar wiring. Thanks for the info!
