i just picked myself up what i am told is a 1989 black fender strat HM its got a kahler locking nut, but a floyd rose? (although the floyd rose looks abit small for the routed hole- and the back plate has been changed for a new one... there is glue around the two mounting screws of the tremolo aswell but it is solid and still plays so im looking past for now)
its got an all maple neck (with some buzzing notes) and is the H S S configuration (previous owner threw in a Dimebucker and i think added a coil splitter... if these werent stock?)
all i know is the neck is to die for the tone is killer, and i like its look... just wish i knew more about it paid 420$ canadian theres no way that this floyd rose bridge is stock though, is there?

The necks sure are great on these guitars. Sounds like you got one that someone retrofitted a Floyd onto. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. You can tell for sure if there are some slanted sides on the bridge route - the Floyd model had a pretty square cornered route.
One of our forum Brothers - lbeast2000 - has Dimebuckers in a couple of his HM's and swears by them.
Congratulations and ... post some pics, dude!

I never swear Dammit! They are my favorite aftermarket humbucker though. Not a tone machine by any means, but they are mighty powerful for a passive pickup.
