I had what I thought was a HM series Strat but have noticed there are some differences to some of the descriptions on this site. I have traced back the serial number F008002 to Fuji-gen Plant 1986? Unlike other HM’s the serial number is placed on the headstock and the fender logo is consistent with standard fenders of the time. Also the jack socket is standard fender and not side mounted. A pick guard is also included and there are only 22 frets
The neck plate is typically off set but does not have made in the USA markings as with others.
I know it was once pink as the cherry red custom finish is chipping in some areas revealing the original paint below. Other than that the HM characteristics such as a Dimarzio Humbucker, Floyd Rose Spyder bridge and nut, jumbo frets, maple neck, rosewood finger board, Gotoh tuners. It also used to have the original HM style knobs but I ignorantly placed replace these some years back as I didn’t like them. I’m not sure if the body is basswood of flame maple as there is some flaming evident in the timber grain under the paint.
So what is it? Have a got a HM Strat or some other creature? I should also say it’s a seriously rocking axe and I love it. I bought it at auction 10 years ago. It once belonged to Richard Marx (not that I’m a fan). I will post some pic,s shortly

Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm not an expert on HM strat history but it sounds like you may have a contemporary strat, these were sort of the forerunner to the HM's. It'll be easier to tell with some photos when you get chance to post them. Look forward to seeing them! .
