Bought this a couple of months ago. It plays dIfferent from anything else I have. Not diggin the tremolo arm action. I prefer a real floyd with a collar so I can tighten the bar in place should the song require it. Bridge pickup is a little bright and the neck pickup is a little dull. It sure isn't as nice as the PAF Pro I installed in my Red HM in the neck position. Other than that I like the action, neck (Super Jumbo Frets), & look of the guitar. I may have to do some changes to the pickups at some point. The pickup switching options are pretty cool though.

Looks great Ibeast, what make is it? Love that jigsaw finish, is that actually routed into the body or just a clever paint job?

Looks cute. Reminds me of the Peavey Vandenberg, with the paintjob/finish there. I really want a Vandy so bad. Certainly would standout in a crowd!

It's an 2006 Ibanez limited edition jigsaw puzzle with alternating curly & flame maple pieces assembled together and vacuum formed to the top of the guitar. Here is a pic of the headstock, 12th fret marker in abalone, and of the guitar as a whole.

That's beautiful, El Beast! Wicked cool guitar! How do you like the thin Prestige Wizard necks?
I really like the color of that and the puzzle scheme. Hey, I don't know if you know this, but The Edge bridges have an Allen screw arm tightener (just like the Kahler Spyders) - it should be on the tremolo shaft, below the baseplate level.
Psst - that guitar told me it wanted you to put an X2N in it's bridge.

Thanks dudes! I am enjoying it. It is definitely a shredder axe.
Jim, there is a model that was produced only for the overseas market which was a kind of butterscotch/tiger eye stain which really shows off the flame & curly maple on this guitar. Too bad it was not sold in the US.
Negatory on the shaft tightener. (Wow that sounded kinda hedonistic!) This is the Lo-Pro Edge in Cosmo. Fabulous!!! (Say in a slightly effeminate voice.) This is the tremolo you have to trade out the teflon washers on to make the arm tighter in the shaft. (Again, somewhat sexual sounding!) As we speak I am trading out my teflon washers to make my arm tighter in the shaft! (Really??? Did he need to say that again?)
I love the neck. Very HM like, but a lot thinner near the headstock. I play my PRS wide/fat neck and like it as well. I guess I'm versatile that way.
I've never played an X2N equipped guitar. They look to be similar in design to the SH113 Dimebuckers. Are they a ceramic magnet pickup as well?

Shame about that shaft not being able to be hand-tightened. All my shafts are tightenable by hand. Hahaha. Couldn't resist!
The X2N is a ceramic magnet pickup - the highest output pickup DiMarzio makes. Resistance is about 16k, with a pretty big but tight bottom end. I like the big but tight bottom ends. Hahaha. Now you've got ME doing it! www.dimarzio.com/site/#/pickups/humbuckers/x2n/
P.S. I'm working on a song right now that I'm recording with my Purple Crush guitar, which is a RG570 body and it has an X2N in it. I'll post in the next couple days so you can hear what the X2N sounds like.

Wow that thing is a beauty!
But I'd give up a nut for an original puzzle Vandy.

Wow that thing is a beauty! But I'd give up a nut for an original puzzle Vandy. Ahhh...but would you hand tighten your arm in your shaft once you obtained the puzzled Vandy? That is the question!

Probably not mainly because I am not sure what you are talking about there. I mean, I could play a puzzle Vandy minus 1 nut, but I'd need both arms with hands to play. Even how badly that'd be.
