The knucklehead I bought my HM from had sanded down the logo on the headstock leaving only the "By Fender" on it. Plus, it looks like a factory blackstone poly finish to me, but a ding on the back shows the HM pink color through it. Were these possibly resprayed at the factory? I am thinking of refinishing the guitar in a completely different color due to the fact that we have a paintbooth at work and we are constantly mixing custom color paints.
What say all of you? Without the logo, I feel the value/collectibility is ruined any way. Not that I see this as a collector's piece, mind you...All of my axes are for playing, not displaying! I'm up in the air on what to do here, as I've always left my guit-fiddles alone to pick up their own "character", but this is my first used purchase.

Note: The neon strings look cool, but I am losing them because the lock nut scraped a bunch of the coating off of the E and B strings and you can feel it when you play. It feels like a paint chip and drives me nuts!
