OFR Locknut Option?

Will a Floyd Rose type Locknut fit in place of the Kahler? My old one has grooves eaten into it and I was wondering if it would work to use the Floyd?

I changed all my HM's to Floyd nuts. I forget if it was R9's or R10s, but I'm sure I said which one in that thread. DON'T make the mistake of using an R3 or R4!

I've already dropped about 60 bucks with John at Wammi World and I'd like the original Kahler, but they were out of it in the 1 11/16". Not crazy about slapping a string retainer on my HM if I can avoid it. Will the 1 5/8" work? Will 1/16" make a big difference?
