Hi Guys, I have a 91 Fender Hm Strat Ultra. I bought it new & have played it since then & war wounds to prove it. I have not seen another one in Australia. I was told that there was not many sent here. Its serial number starts with I sorry can't remember the rest of the number. I do promise to send in a picture. Recently I have been toying with the idea of changing the pickups as compared to my other guitar the sound is not as warm & since I am playing more rock as opposed to Metal now it can be also a little harsh. The pickups are the lace sensors that came as standard. Has anyone changed out the origionals & if so what did you put in.

I recently took out a pair of Lace Hot Golds I had in an HM Strat. Replaced them with Seymour Duncan SSL-5's (The "David Gilmour pickup.")
application High output true single-coil for warm instruments. Perfect for Texas blues rock, classic rock and heavy rock.
description Though it looks like the SSL-1 and has that distinct vintage tone, the SSL-5's over-wound coil yields higher output, more sustain and great harmonics. The result is a pickup that rocks hard and cuts through the mix, but cleans up nicely when you back off the volume.
