EFFING SAXON is coming back to the States this summer!!
If you don't know about SAXON you should learn quick and book a plane ticket to Rocklahoma or one of the other few dates they're gonna grace our fair land. They're one of the three founders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal - alongside some guys name Def Leppard and Iron Maiden.
Check out the blue Valley Arts Strat that Doug is playing. It sure looks like an HM Strat with the 24 frets and all (except for the pickguard.)

Good news, I started a 80s cover band playing ROCK, hair band stuff, stuff with REAL GUITAR in...and we've chosen a buttload of great tones, inlcuding Saxon, (747)...so finally my HMs can do what they were made for and shred like hell!

I got some good reviews for the show SAXON played in Texas recently - so hopefully the show you saw was just an off-night.

It's towards the end of summer, Nick. August 20. I'm just about ready to book my plane tickets.
I corresponded with the drummer Nigel a few times via email. It was a few years ago, but he suggested hoisting a few if they ever got over here again. I have to email him and see if he still remembers me, hopefully I can meet the band or something.
