Finally replaced the Kahler Spyder on my HM with a Real Floyd Rose. ;D The difference is unbelievable. The Kahler, was horrible, poor feel, and response. The Floyd is like driving a Ferrari, with its smooth precision action

Hi, I'm new at this forum, bought a few days ago a used HM strat, i'll try to put some photos... but i thinking about the possibility of changing the kahler floyd rose for an original one. I wonder it is a R2 or R4? Will a schaller work? thanks a lot.

Sometimes I wanna change up one of mine, too. Wonder how much effort removing the bushings etc would be.

Well, the Kahler posts are smaller right? So it shouldn't be that hard to drill out new posts for the Floyd. If they overlap you can Titebond in a dowel, let it set and then drill it. And you'll have to re-route the edges of the recessed cavity just a bit. I think a Schaller or Floyd Rose II style would come closest to fitting the Kahler route.
