I have an HM Strat on loan that I'm considering for purchase. I've never had a chance to mess around with one before. So far it's an outstanding guitar.
I'm really curious about the neck pickup. So far it sounds like broken glass every time I use it. Total treble with the tone only on 5, lowering it just makes it less treble of course, but still thin and undesirable to my ears.
I believe this is the first time I've played a guitar with single coil pickups where the middle pickup actually sounds better! I've tapped on the poles just to make sure someone didn't rewire the order.
Has anyone else experienced this with their HM Strat? If so, what was your solution? (If pickup change please list model if you can remember).
This particular HM Strat seems to be 88-89 year model with an E seriel number. rosewood fretboard.
