I just got done stabbing around inside the HM's control cavity with my soldering iron, and I'm very pleased with the results.
The neck and middle pickups now have their own tone control, and the bridge has none. This way, I can leave the middle pickup at the 250k detent, 'taming' it a bit, adjust the neck pickup as I like, and leave the bridge screaming with all it's top end.
My neck pickup (DMZ Fast Track 1) is now connected to the coil-split switch, along with the Super 3. I did this so that the I could split the neck and use it with the middle to get the clucky Strat tone. Much to my surprise, the FS1 sounds AWESOME split by itself. It sounds better as a true single coil than the stock middle pickup.

Good thinking, Chris. I'm thinking I'll have to do that to the guitar I'm rewiring as well. I don't like tone controls, but I do need some to give that classic strat sound to the single coils as well.

It's funny that Fender wires they're normal Strats with no tone on the bridge pickup, which most people hate and end up changing, but they put a tone on the bridge for the HM, which is a guitar that appeals to guys who don't want a bridge tone. Sounds like stuff that the Gibson folks would think of

The only thing I can think of is maybe Fender was all jazzed about the prototype TBX tone control and thought it was going to change the world or something and insisted it be hooked up to everything!

I am guesing that the wiring scheme wires the two tone pots to the lugs on the 5 way, and the coil split wires go to the three way switch as chris wrote. I wil ltry and diagram it, or meantime maybe you could try emailing/messaging chris to see if he can help.
It;s quite an easy scheme by the sound of it.

The expanded coil tap sounds interesting if you have a humbucker-type single coil in the neck or middle position.
As I understand it, the TBX is made so that you can use it as a tone control for the single coils (250k or bottom pot) or the humbucker (1mg or top pot - almost wide open). But, if you do want to tame the humbucker in case it gets too shrill you still have that option with the TBX. I can certainly see wanting to run the Super 3 wide open, but it seems like the TBX pretty much gives you that option anyway. Especially with Doc's mod.
Nick - what do you think?
P.S. I have the Super 3 wired to a 500k pot and straight out on my white HM guitar and get feedback when I play at high volumes with it. It sounds great, but wouldn't work for live shows unless I put in a tone control or possibly shielded the crap out of everything.
