my hm strat mystery serial number

Hey guys,

I have a beautiful HM Strat that I've had since a teen. Its A SSH with no pickguard kahler tremelo.

Only issue I have is the neck has a mystery serial on it...

As far as I can tell its an MIJ just based on what I've read, but I can't find any reports of the serials starting with a G.

Lemme know if you guys know anything, I've had this guitar for over 15 years and I plan on keeping it 15 more but I'd always like to know more about it.

Mine starts with G also....

I do not know, but think the "G" prefix may have been used, as well as the "I", for guitars intended for sale overseas, conforming to European or international radio interference, electrical, materials standards. If I'm right, they were probably assembled in Japan.
