I have a circa 1989 mij with a very dark fretboard. Does anyone know if any of the Japanese guitars came with an ebony fretboard?
My newer hm strat (probably assembled in US) has a much lighter fretboard and is rosewood.

I also have a newer HM Strat and the fretboard is lighter and looks more like rosewood.
