Stripe under "STRAT" headstock

Hello all

i just watched this vid here and this guy says that the stripe under where it says "STRAT" on headstock are suppossed to be the same color as the guitar???
is that accurate??

my black 89 hm had a blue stripe under it and i know it was original
my 88 raspberry has the same sort of color
my 2 other 89 whites have a light pinkish/light purple/white-ish stripe
