I have seen some of the "beer" strats that seemed to have HM Strat body style and neck, but did not have the offset neck plate or body heel. I think the "no pick guard" may have started with these early promo guitars, so as to leave more room for the "Bud Light" or other logo. For what it is worth, the offset neck plate and "F" knobs appear very similar to those used on the Fender Precision Lyte basses.
