I am taking a white virtually un=played HM Power Strat from the original run to Norman Guitars to be PLEKed. (Frets were damaged in storage before I acquired it.) I know the Kahler bridge pieces can be shimmed up to match the fretboard radius, but what of the nut? As near as I can tell from research, the neck is 1.66" wide at the nut, and the Kahler locking nut on it is slightly narrower than the neck? 1.62" maybe? However, I am fairly certain the locking nut doesn't match the neck radius. I've order the 5522 locking nut form Kahler that is supposed to be 17" radius, but its width is listed at 1.6875". Anyone use one of these on an HM? How did it work out? $60 - but if it is the right part, money will spent.

Got the part. New part measures 1.698 inches, and the old seemed to measure 1.691 inches. Can't really tell much difference between them, but I went ahead and installed the new part with the original mounting screws. They both had a "2" stamped on the bottom. I hope I didn't swap like for like.

Thanks, and this may sound crazy, but I like the Kahler and I have already installed Auto-Latches on all three of my HM Strats, so ... kinda stuck with the Spyder, which I really like. When I get my white one done it wil lbe a near-prefect HM Strat as it *SHOULD* have left the factory.

Have fun - I totally understand wanting to restore your HM to factory specs.
