I recently got a Fender HM Strat 1990 in near mint condition in near perfect condition and I love it.
Except for one problem…
The sustain is pretty terrible.
I’ve tried all the tricks of the trade (boosting bass, vibrato, etc). But there’s no getting around it. It can barely hold a note and I’m pretty sure it’s due to the Spyder.
For those of you who have modded your trems, are there any parts you’d recommend I should swap? And since I’m thinking about replacing it with a Floyd/Gotoh all together, any you’d recommend?

I haven't heard of any mods to a Spyder, but there was one member that was looking into shimming some saddles to match the fretboard radius. IIRC, their post is in the Tech section. I kind of wish they'd return to make a post on the results. I don't recall mine having terrible sustain though. If you haven't already, get it a good setup/fret dressing and see if that might help.
