Found this on eBay last weekend. It's an HM Strat Body that was never used because they got some light overspray on it.
I got it for $50 plus ship and Maguires Scratch X worked beautifully to remove the overspray. There is one small screw hole on the back where some music store had it screwed to the ceiling ( ! ), otherwise it's in new condition.

Now that is NICE. Lovely colour, almost candy apple red looking from here. Screwed to a ceiling though. WTF!

Yeah, pretty crazy, huh? Anyway, it is a nice deep red color with some raspberry in it. This must be the one they called raspberry red. Here's a shot before I removed the overspray.

That's a nice deal. I saw that but I have enough projects! I see bodies come up quite a bit but the neck seems to be the missing link. Does anybody like Warmoth make an HM spec neck?

I think a neck would have to be a totally custom job.
However, some HM necks are different to others. In my experience there's basically two types. Both my rosewood ones have a very flat rear profile, just like the fretboard. It's basically a squashed D shape, witht he bulge of the D being flattened.
Maple ones I tried have a much more usually profile. I think heem's tech compared them to the newer San Dimas Charvel necks. There are similarities there for sure.
Reckon I need to break out the micro-meter and do some measurements!

I would say my HM's are like Nick described. Kind of a thinner Wizard II, with more rounded sides. You'd want someone who owns an HM to make it so they'd have a reference.

Really nice Jim: looks brand new! Is that a spare Spyder, or will it be used for The Doggie/Horror/project ?

I've dedicated that Spyder to this guitar. Bridge posts, a fine tuner and shipping cost me $30 from Kahler. That's a lot for how small those pieces are!
I think I'm going to route for a Gotoh Floyd on The Horror, I love those bridges and it will go well with all the upgrades I'm making to that guitar.

Be stout of heart, good fellow!
All are done and turned out fine. Hit the neckplate with some gloss black Rustoleum paint as well!

Leveled, crowned and dressed the frets, mounted the neck and middle pickups, enlarged the volume and tone holes so the pots would fit. Tomorrow I will hopefully wire it up and mount the neck. Need to get the correct 5-way switch tomorrow as well. This body has never been drilled, so I'll also have to drill the Kahler cavity screw holes.
Er, I mean Friday! Yeah, that's it. That's what I said! haha.

Update, Thanksgiving - Measured for the trem claw screw holes. Got out the drill and was ready to go, but when I made the pilot holes with the screw, I realized I could just screw them in. Got the bridge mounted and spray painted the fine tuners and also the coil-switch mounting ring & bolt black.
Came out great!
