Here's mine:
Bought in Sept 1988 HSS Rosewood Black Kahler Spyder s/n E840681 owner: Craig L
Replaced the original humbucker with an EMG81. Had a friend wire it so I could use the stock single coils. Then upgraded the neck pickup to an EMG SA and removed the middle pup.

Hello First Post I have a HM E904083 H/S/S configuration. It is black, has a Kahler Spyder, 24 fret rosewood fretboard, low profile neck looks like maple, Gotoh tuners, I have done no modifications other than replacing the input jack, paid 150 in a pawn shop back in 2002. Man does this thing scream!

Those aren't hm strats AFAIK. Still great looking guitars Yes, you're right. These are contemporary Strats, MIJ, kind of the fore runner to the HM and share many of the same features. Beautiful guitars though, especially like the sunburst one!

Yes, HM's have the same neck plate (except black) and while it says USA the majority of them were MIJ, I think assembly shifted to the USA later on but still using Japanese parts. If you go to the HM Strat pages homepage and click on background, then click on model descriptions and serial no. list it gives you the full story there.

My Fender HM Strat has a serial of E442396 (Fender Dater project says Corona, 84-88), H/S/S with DiMarzio Humbucker and 2 Fender Single Coils, Rosewood Fretboard, 24 frets, Kahler trem, removed coil cut switch, repainted greenish teal... haven't yet removed neck to check stamps... will add when I do... NOTE: My serial is a much lower E.... than any others in the database... Thanks, Mike

Dear all,
Thanks so much for keeping this model alive. Mine is black, bought in 2001 and showing serial F009436. Quite worn, but still kicking. Made in 86 I think ? Pics will come soon.
PS : Greetings from the froggies. I'm from center of France.
