I bought this brand new for £369 (GBP), in either 1989 or 1990, and just remember being drawn to the colour. Gave it a try in store, and took it home half an hour later.

I love the sound of the humbucker for distortion, but also the tone of the two single coils together when playing clean. And it never goes out of tune once the strings are played in, until one of them breaks of course. I've recently restrung it with the thickest strings I could get through the nut, so it's now tuned to Drop C and sounding truly possessed.

My son got my Yamaha SG200, but he'll have to wait until I've departed to get his hands on my HM.

Hi all,I have a razzberry hm strat with maple fretboard serial E927505. Had it for about 4 years and have recently started peeling off the grey metallic paint job it had when I bought it. Will post some pics when done. Thanks for all the great info. Cheers Eoin

Hello I’m new here and I actually got myself a 80s hm strat a few hours ago in Pasadena, CA for only $550 with a fender USA Case it came with! Would appreciate some help to know if it’s a u.s guitar or Japan. I typed in the # and it says it was made in Fullerton, CA in 1989-1990.

Hi trouss, just looked at the fine tuners. If you look at the product details it gives you the dimensions of each fine tuner.

Hello. I own an HM IV HSH in Electric Blue. Floyd Rose III no mods just new strings. Serial number is : E 970043. Made in Korea. Fast fret board,very "harmonics" inducing. Decent sounding responsive pickups.No beef with this guitar. We've been together since 1993!
