Does anyone have any info on my previously posted HM? That is two of us recently who cannot find any information about a serial. Thanks and Rock! The Fender.com site have some general info about Fender Japan serial numbers but is just for guideline because the serial numbers the Japanese manufacturers use are not consistent and not orderly. In the Fender website go to Support, then click Product Dating, then click on Japanese Instruments Product Dating, I will include a direct link below of the list of Japanese instruments serial numbers. For example my HM with a single humbucker DiMarzio pickup serial number is E851XXX looking at Fender's list it could be made from 1984 up to 1987, and from other sources they said my particular HM was made around '87 to '88. I bought mine new probably in '87 or early '88, also some sites was saying that my single humbucker version HM was made first so I would assume it was made in '87, and my version was only totally made in Japan, not at all even assembled in USA. The other versions of HM like HSS, HH, also with the special Lace sensor pickups model I was told are all assembled in Corona, CA USA using Japanese made parts starting in as early as 1986 to 1987 and after then. Hope this help, and if there are wrong info that I stated please correct me with reliable sources, thanks. Japanese Instruments Product Dating from Fender.com Support

Thanks for the info. I'll check what you posted and see if any of the "serials" I have bring up anything!
I checked and I didn't see anything for the info that I have:
Neck labeled - ST556HMRJ - On body labeled 9 17 90 with a Sanchez stamp overtop.
Any thoughts?

I have a HM Strat Ultra H037555 Crimson Burst Lace Sensors, Steeler tremolo Fully original, no resoldering or anything. Great condition, and great guitar. I think the neck at least is MIJ as the trussrod screw is metric

E830924 Black w/Rosewood fingerboard single Humbucker Year: 1988
All original and in pristine condition since I'm the original owner and I tried to learn how to play very briefly and gave up, so it sits in it's gig bag and has since new. Hopefully one of my three kids will learn how to play this piece of musical art.
A coworker of mine played it once about 20 years ago and said it was the best sounding guitar he had ever heard. I took it out last week and for giggles, took my daughters digital tuner for her violin and checked to see how far out of tune it had gotten. It was almost dead on yet...amazing.
I was very happy to find this forum, and to find so many others that love these guitars.
